Jude 1,2
1 Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James,
To those who have been called, who are loved in God the Father and kept for[a] Jesus Christ:
2 Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance..
The Gap from living in the hand of GOD to walking in the world in relationship, Jude is writing to a community in a destructive fashion. As jude exposes these false teachers as model of ineffective and dangerous leadership, he also geves us some clues to the character of servant leadership and Jude lists 3 in verse 2.
- Love: We are to be lovers of peoples. Leaders must love the people for whom they are responsible, modeling the consistency of the love that GOD has poured out on us in Christ. Leadership is a relationship of love.
- Peace: We are to be peacemakers. In a world of conflict, leaders bring calm, In a world of brokenness, leaders offer healing. In a world of loneliness, leaders provide relationship. We are in the business of reconciliation and healing relationships.
- Mercy: We are to be keepers of commitments.
