HAVE EYES TO SEE THE UNSEEN

Somebody once said to me that whatever you put more of your attention on, it will determine what you are missing most. Last summer when I was on my sabbatical, I asked the Lord for a scripture that would be our theme this year, and the Lord revealed to me that he wants us to have eyes to see. I don’t know how many of you have seen the video on YouTube of two groups of people interacting in different colored shirts. When I watched this video for the first time I was in class and the professor asked my group to count how many people had on white shirts. I counted 20 and then he asked “did you notice the gorilla?”. When he played the video again there was a gorilla in the video that I had not noticed. How did I miss that?

The scripture that the lord has given me for this year is the following– “because we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 TPT

In the whole gospel, you can see how Jesus was always doing the extraordinary in the ordinary. I think God wants us to refine our way to see and a way to stay more focused so that we would not miss everything that’s happening. Here are the 3 things that I think we need to pay attention to:

 1. Have eyes to see the unseen in our ministries and areas.
2. Have eyes to see the unseen in your own life. He’s moving in the most ordinary parts of your life.
3. Every day we are trying to seek Jesus so try to pay more attention to the simple things and notice how He’s moving.

We all know that Jesus is moving and he’s doing amazing things. My hope is that at the end of the year, we will be able to share with each other how we encountered Jesus Christ in our daily lives. Amen.
